Christiana Hinds

Psychodynamic Counsellor

About me:

I am in the final year of my Level 4 Psychodynamic Counselling diploma. I believe the most powerful relationship you can have is the relationship with yourself. As a result, I work on the principle that self- knowledge can help to improve many aspects of your life. I personally know how heavy and isolating it feels to carry painful emotions or feelings you cannot make sense of. Alongside my counselling training, I am a volunteer with a charity called PANDAS. Within my work, I support all genders in going through various transitions. This includes pregnancy, parenting, life changes, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, birth trauma or the feeling of being ‘stuck in a rut.’ I bring my skillset and my own lived experience to my practice. When we are going through difficult times, life can feel overwhelming with different and confusing feelings and emotions, I offer a genuinely warm and grounding space to gently explore your experiences and relational patterns.

What I can help with:

My practice is centred on helping you in connecting the dots between where you have been, where you are now and to support you in moving forward with greater clarity. By bringing old patterns of behaviours to light we can gain new perspectives with greater understanding of yourself. I know how powerful it can be to feel seen without fear of judgment or assumptions. I am dedicated to creating an environment of openness, for you to feel heard and valued. True growth begins when we feel understood and supported and I will work collaboratively alongside you. I aim to understand an individual’s unique perspective with empathy and reflection in the hope you can break free from unhelpful cycles. To trust the process of therapy can help in trusting ourselves and being proud and confident in our decisions and choices.

How I work:

From the moment you walk in, you will find an open mind and time to focus entirely on you. I aim to make your session a sanctuary for you to speak freely about anything. Rather than watching from a distance, I involve myself in your inner world, walking that path alongside you so we can make sense of your struggles and work through them together.

You do not need to have anything figured out before you sit down, whether you are feeling anxious, burnt out or simply unsure of where to start, you will be met with acceptance, kindness and support every step of the way.

  • Registered Membership: Student Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
